Your Body, Your Temple
A temple is a place of worship. A body is the physical structure that holds who we are.
Now, here’s the real question—are you treating your body like the temple God created it to be?
Many of us are guilty of neglecting our temples. We overwork, we don’t rest, we eat whatever is convenient, and we ignore the signals our bodies give us. But God has already given us the blueprint to take care of ourselves in His Word.
As we fast, we are putting aside the distractions and making room for God to renew us physically, spiritually, and mentally. A fast without prayer is just a diet, so let’s use this time to strengthen our connection with Him.
Fuel Your Temple the Right Way
What You Eat Matters.
The Bible says, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
That means eating for God—choosing foods that sustain, nourish, and energize, rather than foods that harm and slow us down.
Are you fueling your temple with fruits, vegetables, and the natural things of the earth? Or are you feeding it with processed, unhealthy choices that leave you drained?
Train Your Temple – Spiritually & Physically
Move Your Body
1 Timothy 4:8 tells us, "Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better."
Just like neglecting exercise causes our muscles to weaken, neglecting spiritual training weakens our ability to fight back against the enemy.
If you don’t train, you won’t be strong enough to stand.
Strengthen your body through movement.
Strengthen your spirit by staying in the Word.
Strengthen your faith by walking with God daily.
Rest is Holy
Do You Make Rest a Priority?
Psalm 127:2 reminds us that "It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night… for God gives rest to His loved ones."
Many of us grind day and night, chasing money, trying to secure the bag—but in the process, we sacrifice our health, peace, and spiritual well-being.
God did not create us to work ourselves into the ground.
Rest is not a reward; it is a requirement.
Rest is not a weakness; it is wisdom.
Rest is not lost time; it is restoration.
God provides for those who trust Him, not those who chase after idols like money and status. Let go and rest in Him.
Reflection Prompt:
What are you going to do differently to take care of your temple?
Commit to eating better, moving daily, and making rest a priority.
Your body is God’s dwelling place—honor it.
