Rising After the Fall: Embracing God's System of Rescue

Have You Fallen?

We’ve all seen that Life Alert commercial where someone cries out, "I've fallen, and I can't get up!" It’s memorable because it taps into a real fear—being stuck, helpless, and unable to move forward.

But what if I told you that God has His own “Life Alert” system built into each of us?

God’s rescue plan is always in place, activated through prayer and crying out to Him. He watches over us, ready to send help, but too often, we hesitate. We convince ourselves that our failures disqualify us from His grace. But that’s not how God works.

Throughout the Bible, great men and women of faith stumbled. They fell. They struggled. But when they cried out for help, God never turned His back on them.

God Wants You to Rise Again

Jeremiah 8:4 (AMP) asks an important question: "Do people fall and not rise up again? Do they turn away from God and not repent and return to Him?"

God understands that we are human, that we will make mistakes. But He does not intend for us to stay down.

Falling does not mean failure—refusing to get back up does.

When life knocks you down, God wants to lift you up. But it requires an act of faith—turning back to Him, repenting, and trusting in His power to restore you.

Fasting: A Spiritual Realignment

If you've ever had back pain, you know how a chiropractic adjustment can restore your posture and relieve discomfort. Fasting does the same thing— but for your spirit.

When life’s trials weigh us down, it’s easy to get misaligned:

We stray from prayer.

We stop reading the Word.

We let distractions take over.

Fasting helps reset your spirit—allowing you to hear God clearly and align yourself with His will. It’s a tool not just for seasons of crisis, but for ongoing spiritual strength.

God’s System of Rescue is Always Active

Too often, we wait until things are at their worst before we cry out to God. But what if we built a habit of running to Him before we hit rock bottom?

What if you were to:

  • Make fasting part of your year.

  • Seek God consistently—not just in struggle, but in strength.

  • Trust that when you fall, He is always there to pick you up.

Don’t let guilt, shame, or discouragement keep you down. You don’t have to stay where you fell.

Reflection Prompt:

  • Do you feel spiritually misaligned?

  • Are there areas in your life where you need to cry out to God for help?

  • What can you do today to get back up and step forward in faith?

No matter what has happened before, God’s hand is extended to you. Are you ready to take it?
